Welcome to our blog post about the best LED grow lights on the market! Indoor gardening and hydroponics have grown in popularity in recent years, and LED grow lights are an essential part of any indoor growing operation. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at some of the top and most efficient LED grow lights on the market.
Getting the right amount of LED lights is something you want to do right the first time, or you could end up wasting money and time.
There is one way to determine how many LED grow lights you need — there are two steps. You need to determine the lighting needs of your factory and the dimensions of your factory area. Plant needs are measured in watts per square foot.
Instead of measuring the plant area (your grow tent or elsewhere where you grow plants), measure the footprint or the canopy of the plant.
Example: A 5' by 5' space with a 4' by 4' plant canopy only needs LED lighting for a 4' by 4' area.
To calculate your plant’s wattage needs, you’ll need to do some research on your plant. More isn’t always better. In fact, too many LED lights can burn plants and even bleach them.
It sounds complicated, but once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll get the hang of it. Alternatively, you can search the Internet for specific information about your plant.

When choosing the best grow lights for houseplants, there are several different factors to consider.
What you want from your grow lights depends on a few things. This includes what you grow, how much space you have, and how energy efficient you want your lights to be.
Watts
Wattage affects the brightness of the lamp. The higher the number, the brighter the light. Higher wattages don’t necessarily provide the best grow light for houseplants.
If your lights are fixed in place, you may need a higher wattage. Wattage is less important if your grow lights are adjustable. This is because you can move the light closer to compensate for the brightness.
LED v Incandescent
The best indoor grow lights are LED. This is because LED lights stay cooler when left on for long periods of time compared to incandescent lights.
Grow lights should stay on for about 12 hours a day.
Heat is how incandescent light bulbs produce light. Therefore, they will be very warm after sitting for several hours. This can have a negative effect on your plants when placed too close together.
Grow lights as part of an indoor gardening system.
Size
Grow lights come in many different sizes, ranging from 6 inches to 36 inches wide. To pick the best light for you, consider how many seedling trays you will be using. Or, consider how many potted plants you want to provide lighting.
If you are using a seed starting rack, choose lights that are the same width as the rack. This will allow you to utilize the entire trellis without any seedlings getting more/less light than others.
Spectrum
Grow lights are special because they contain a spectrum of light that ordinary light bulbs don’t. Full-spectrum light is designed to provide the same benefits as being in sunlight.
The sun doesn’t just emit white light. It actually emits the full electromagnetic spectrum. It consists of all colors between ultraviolet and infrared.
This is why many grow lights appear red and blue.
Full-spectrum lights are the best grow lights if you want to provide your houseplants with good energy.
Grow lights are the best way to help plants grow in a dark and airy house. Since lighting is such an important aspect of a friendly indoor farming environment, choosing the right grow lights can make or break a gardening job. This is exactly why, as farming continues to evolve, it is essential to stay abreast of the latest and upcoming trends and technologies.
Consider adding these grow lights to your portfolio and have a profitable and thriving fiscal year in your business trajectory!
If you’re an outdoor grower, you have plenty of sun to meet this need. Indoors, however, you need to provide your plants with plenty of light to promote strong growth and a good harvest. But how do you pick the best LED grow lights, and what do you need to know to find them? This blog sheds light on these key questions, so read on and be inspired.
1. Driving crops to their full potential
LED grow lights can replicate natural solar energy to a great extent. This feature allows growers to use the same light source from germination to harvest. However, the biggest advantage is that LEDs can simultaneously produce wavelengths suitable for different parts of the plant. Purple light stimulates bud growth and photosynthesis in the canopy, while the bottom and middle leaves require yellow wavelengths. Growers using LEDs will benefit from a larger harvest per square foot than with alternatives such as fluorescent or HPS bulbs.
2. Compatible with smartphones
Recent innovations have resulted in LED grow lights that allow farmers to control light cycles and intensity remotely. After setting up the panels, growers download the app and connect to the LEDs via Wi-Fi. This is quite a lifesaver for growers who travel long distances and may forget to activate flowering or adjust light intensity. This same feature is essential for first-time growers who are still learning the ropes.
3. Compatible with compact spaces
LED grow lights are popular in compact grow kits, such as the 24 x 24 inch models, because crops can thrive without experiencing heat stress. This advantage makes LEDs a safe choice for novice growers eager to learn about indoor growing while nurturing a plant or two.

On the verge of staying on top of the list of best manufacturers, most brands have started improving their products.
Also, competition is increasing massively, so brands are doing their best to attract lifetime customers. In this case, we consumers should always be looking for something different and something better to take advantage of. Below is a list of the features we should be looking for in an ideal LED grow light.
However, it’s still up to your own plants, not you. Plus, if you’re looking for something to make you feel comfortable while caring for your plants, there’s nothing wrong with grabbing LED grow lights.
So let’s explore these features that can help you determine the best option.
Space: Coverage
To determine light suitability, you must prepare the space that can be allocated to mature growing areas. Yes, if you plan to grow in a wide space, it would not be wise to use LEDs that meet small coverage requirements, and vice versa.
Coverage is the intended area that an LED grow light can illuminate with sufficient brightness. So make this feature your primary focus when looking for LED grow lights in the market.
Spectrum: Growth
Yes, different brands have different mechanisms when making their products. Also, every product from a different manufacturer will have a completely different LED location.
The better the spectrum that has a balanced red-blue ratio and includes infrared and ultraviolet rays, the better the growth. So, look for a full-spectrum LED grow light that has been proven to include all wavelengths in its efficacy. Yes, one of the best LED grow lights will have just about every band available in sunlight, and you should look forward to that too if you plan to grow bigger and healthier plants.
Build: Lifespan
Well, it doesn’t need to be stated that the quality of a product’s components is directly related to the useful life of any product. Therefore, the aim is a robust and durable product, with all components certified by the respective standards bodies. Better build, less maintenance cost.
Cooling: safe
Since the grow light will be functional for most of the day, it must dissipate heat in a timely and consistent manner. Always aim for LEDs with state of the art cooling mechanisms, for example the Viparspectra PAR range has a good logic behind putting the fan in the front and we think it is the safest LED from a factory safety point of view.
So yes, a cool, stable environment in your growing space means safer, happier plants for you.
Dimming: control capability
While it’s not mandatory, if the LEDs are dimmable, the control of providing the most suitable light for your plants is entirely in your hands. Plus, with the dimming feature, you can test or experiment with multiple settings and use them later based on the best-resulting parameters.
Daisy Chaining: Scale Freedom
Beginner indoor gardeners or planters should keep this feature in mind when making their decision. Yes, it’s good to have backup options when you take your growing passion to the next level. Well, this feature isn’t mandatory, but it’s great if you’re starting with a 2' X 2' or 3' X 3' planting space.
Price: Budget
Even if you’re on a low budget, don’t bring junk home. Yes, it will be more harmful than beneficial to your plants. There are many affordable LED grow lights on the market with a few working mechanisms available. If you are on a tight budget, we want you to check out this best cheap yet working led grow lights review.
Yes, you can get a quality product on a decent budget too, so don’t panic and do your research. Invest in a product that is worth the money.
These are some of the best grow lights you can get for indoor plants. Note that these lights do not guarantee miracle growth. You will have to monitor the plant for a while to see how the leaves (or the plant) react to the brightness of the light. Although LED lights do not emit heat, it is wise to monitor the temperature as overheating may damage the leaves.
Suffice it to say, if your houseplants need some light and you can’t keep them in the sun, these Grow LEDs are the perfect replacement.

Keeping houseplants and seeds thriving can be challenging when you can’t provide a reliable source of lighting, especially when sunlight is scarce.
In general, houseplants fall into three categories based on their light needs: low, medium, and high light-loving. In addition to sunlight (direct or diffuse), artificial lighting (LED, fluorescent, HID or others) of varying intensity, spectrum and duration also contributes to the healthy growth of indoor plants.
If you’re not sure how much lighting your houseplants need and where to buy them, follow this guide.
There are many reasons to use LED grow lights.
Please bear with me as I walk you through some of them:
They are environmentally friendly — no environmentally harmful substances such as mercury are used in the production of LED lights
Efficient — they use up to 90% less energy than traditional lamps
Long life — they typically last 35,000 to 50,000 hours
Light Tailored to Your Plant’s Needs — LEDs emit a full spectrum of light. The wavelengths of light are often tailored to remove those wavelengths that plants don’t use (such as greens and yellows).
Faster growth — so your plants grow faster and healthier

With 1680 SAMSUNG LM301B diodes, the SE5000 Led Grow Light consumes 480 watts at 1333 umol/s, achieving an impressive PPE of 2.75 umol/J, covering a high yield full-cycle growth of 4'x4'. The full spectrum (380–410nm, 660–665nm, 730nm, 3200–4200K, 4800–5000K) is ideal for vegetable flowering to suit every stage of the plant cycle. The dimmer knob is ideal for growers to adjust the light intensity for different growth stages. The daisy chain feature allows you to connect up to 30 spider farm grow lights — dimming multiple lights at the same time.
LED lights can be used throughout the life cycle of a plant. Knowing how to position your plants’ LED light sources at each stage of cultivation is critical to growing healthy plants and producing maximum yields.
Seedling stage. For seedlings, position the LED light 24–36 inches above the tallest branch of the plant’s leaves. Since the seedlings are fragile and vulnerable, placing the lighting source closer may result in stunted growth or discolouration. Switch to 18/6 photoperiod for regular and photoperiod feminized seeds and 24/0 for autoflowering seeds. At this stage, light intensity is best. Also, you can use the dimming option if available.
Plant growth stages. During this stage, plants need more intense light. Hang the LED light closer to the plant, observing a distance of 12–24 inches from the top foliage. Monitor the plants and adjust the height of the lights if necessary to avoid irregular growth or discoloration of the upper leaves.
Flowering period. Position the lighting source 16–36 inches above the plant canopy. Depending on your specific blooming needs, you can raise the LED lights to the desired distance. To get photoperiod plants to bloom, set a 12/12 photoperiod.
Using LEDs is actually quite simple, but following these recommendations for growth cycles is crucial.
The final decision will mostly depend on your budget and available space. Bulbs may be better for a small number of plants, while LEDs are better when you need to grow a large number of plants in a small space. This is because LEDs are smaller and can fit up to 2 or 3 in a grow tent, while light fixtures are relatively large and difficult to fit more than one in most tents. Another thing to keep in mind is cost. If you are purchasing a light bulb unit, the initial cost will be low, but you will find that your electricity bill will increase significantly. Although the initial cost of LEDs can be high, they consume so little energy that you won’t see a big difference at the end of the month.

Features a solid metal interlocking frame that is up to 2–5x stronger than any competitor’s grow tent frame. Gorilla Grow Tent frames are so strong they can hold up to 300 lbs.
One of the best reasons to get a grow tent is that you can control everything inside. With just a few tweaks here and there, you can tune your environment to the perfect conditions your plants need to grow. Controlling the environment inside a tent is much easier than controlling a large room.
Growing in a tent does not require as much energy or electricity. Reflective materials on tent walls, floors and ceilings allow light to bounce and hit the plants directly without loss of energy. In a non-reflective space, where light is projected from lamps onto various surfaces and absorbed as heat and light, the amount of light reflected is very small (just enough for your eyes to see it), but if you have a reflective surface such as a mirror or poly ester film) light is actually “bent” at an angle and sent elsewhere. If all surfaces are reflective, the light will bounce around until it hits a surface that is not primarily your plant.
Grow tents are generally safer to use. Because it is completely enclosed, it can be hidden and it is less likely that people will accidentally find it. A planting operation might be nice in a closet or spare bedroom, but it’s much harder to hide when guests are over. A grow tent is completely enclosed and completely insulated, with a small padlock to keep nosy guests out.
It is much easier to control the air coming out of a grow tent than it is from an entire room. A simple air filtration system removes most of the odors from the plants, and since the tent is enclosed, odors are really only spread around the tent perimeter, and with the vents, you can be sure that the only air coming out is fresh and clean. This is easier to control than an open room.
It’s also much easier to control the temperature in a grow tent than in an open space. With a few adjustments, you can raise or lower the temperature very quickly. Since you’re confining the space, the temperature is restricted and doesn’t escape as quickly as it would in an open area.
Growing your own vegetables, herbs and spices is an exciting adventure. A grow tent may be just what you are looking for.
But if you’re trying a different tent, make sure you get the right lighting and filter size!
